Daily Photo Challenge

This is the dumping ground for all of the photos in my daily photo challenge. My goal is to take (at least) one photo that I am proud of every day and post it here. Hopefully this will serve 2 purposes:

1. Improve my skill in photography.
2. Document moments of my life over the next year.

Day 1

We’ll start this off with 3 pictures. The first one is a long exposure night mode shot that looks awesome! The second is beautiful sunset as seen through a bush that really plays well with the color of the lighting. The last one is a snapshot of playing as a kid, with Spiderman swinging on his web out a window with your name written under it… Simple things that bring so much joy.

Day 2

Today was a tough day to get a shot. There were several things I wanted to shoot, but just didn’t want to look like a fool pulling over and taking a picture of a tree in a field or whatever. Maybe I’ll get over that too as this goes on. This is a tree in my front yard that lost its final leaves last night. I really like the way the afternoon light hits the empty branches.

Day 3

This pandemic sucks. One of the good things that I really haven’t taken advantage of enough though is having more time with my kids. Today Levi wanted to roll his car back and forth in the kitchen I said “no” out of habit. After realizing there was no reason not to I got in the floor and played with him without saying another word. His face lit up. I wast quite quick enough on the draw to get his smile, but this photo today serves as a reminder to say “yes” every once and a while.

Day 4

3D Printing has become a huge hobby of mine during the pandemic. This is my attempt at a dramatically lit scene of some terrain.

Day 5

I missed yesterday, so today you get 3! Sometimes photographs are about the art created by the image, these photos are about the art created by the MOMENT. My boy is 5! 😬

Day 6

This was my first “I’ve gotta pull over and take this shot.” I’m working on photo composition and using leading lines to my advantage. I think I have a lot to learn, but I’m still happy with this photo.

Day 7

I have failed on the uploading daily… but I have been taking photos daily. So I’m just going to keep posting my favorites randomly. 🙂
